For problems viewable on the outside of teeth, the dental video camera, also called the intra-oral camera, allows a patient to see what we see. For example, if a patient has decay leaking around filling edges or cracks in teeth, we can enlarge the image of the tooth using the dental camera and screen, giving the patient an accurate understanding of the problem and treatment options. This allows you to see what in the past, only the doctor could see.
